Discipleship

Jesus started his ministry by making disciples. For three years, the Twelve followed him everywhere, through good times and bad. These people would become fishers for people who engaged deeply in God’s mission. Christ commissioned them to go and make new disciples and the Church began to grow.

For better or worse, the quality of our congregational life is a barometer of the depth and vitality of our discipleship. We need to be paying attention to our capacity for making disciples if we want a harvest of healthy and vibrant congregations.

As a Church, how do Anglicans make disciples? How do we help people to grow in their faith so that they become deeply engaged in God’s mission?
